National MARLISCO Forum on Marine Litter in Bulgaria

The National MARLISCO Forum on Marine Litter in Bulgaria took place on October 31st, 2014 (the International Black Sea Day) at Gallery Graffiti hotel in Varna city – “the Sea capital of Bulgaria”.

The forum successfully engaged live audience consisting of more than 50 representatives - ecology experts, environmental protection NGO’s, municipal experts and public institutions, academia and research institutions, media, as well as many young people graduating ecology and environmental specialties in the Universities in Bulgaria. The forum caught the attention of two national televisions (BNT2 and BTV) - many reportages were broadcasted about the national event!

Special guests and speakers at the forum were - Rumyana Radilova (ecologist, Deputy Mayor of Aksakovo municipality), Veneta Georgieva (state inspector, environmental control "Maritime Administration" - Varna), Ljudmil Ikonomov (Exec. Director of the Institute for Ecological modernization) and Ventsislav Nikolov (long-term Director of the "Black Sea Basin Directorate – Varna”).

The forum was broadcasted live from Varna on Bulgarian National Television (BNT2), as well online on the specially developed electronic platform. Leading the discussion was Zoya Cheresharova, who is a well-known journalist at BNT2. The participants of the forum were very satisfied.
