The journey of the MARLISCO exhibition in Portugal
The MARLISCO exhibition “Marine litter: a global concern” toured Portugal from north to south, being present in 16 different locations – Setúbal, Vila do Conde, Aveiro, Lisboa, Lagos, Odemira, Santo André, Tavira, Faro, Estremoz, Torres Vedras, Leiria, Sintra, Caparica, Lisboa again and Alcobaça. Throughout the country this exhibition had more than 15000 visitors, from which more than 8700 had guided tours or participated in related educational activities (workshop, story tale, lecture).
Aiming to take the exhibition to the Portuguese Islands, the Portuguese team has created a new version that is still travelling the nine islands of the Azores archipelago. Until now more than 10200 people visited this exhibition, more than 1500 of those took the guided tour or participated in the educational activities.
Another exhibition (outside exhibition) was created in a big format to stand near a very frequented beach in Sesimbra during the summer period. Hundreds of people have seen it.
